What is a thank-you actually worth?
Put in your own numbers. Every assumption is visible and editable — including the one nobody can really know in advance.
Your numbers
Change anything. Nothing here is hidden from you.
We default to 5% because it’s a conservative floor, not a sales number. Slide it to whatever you actually believe.

The framing that matters
A gift costs 0.71% of the job it thanks someone for. You need 4 extra jobs a year to break even on the whole program.
Honest caveat: this is arithmetic on your assumptions, not a measured outcome or a promise. The referral rate is the number nobody can know in advance — which is exactly why your first month is free if you get no reviews at all.
Why referred work is worth more
A referred job costs about a tenth of a bought one
This is the argument for spending anything at all on client follow-up, and it has nothing to do with us.
A paid lead
~$750
per acquired job
Marketplace and paid leads convert at roughly 8–15% for home services. You buy a lot of them to close one.
A referred lead
~$63
per acquired job
Referrals convert at roughly 30–50%. They arrive pre-trusted, and they don’t argue about price the way a cold lead does.
Industry figures for home-services contractors, not our own measurements. Your numbers will differ — but the ratio is why the customers you already served are the cheapest growth available to you.
Questions
About this calculator
Where does the referral rate come from?
You choose it. We default to 5% because it’s a conservative floor rather than a number that flatters us. If you know your own referral rate, use it — the calculator is only as honest as its inputs.
Is this a projection I can rely on?
No. It’s arithmetic on assumptions you supplied, and we say so on the page. It’s useful for framing the decision — what percentage of a job a gift costs, and how many extra jobs cover the program — not for forecasting.
Why frame the gift as a percentage of the job?
Because that’s the comparison that reflects reality. A hundred-dollar gift feels expensive in isolation and trivial next to a fifteen-thousand-dollar job it’s attached to.
